Advanced Healthcare Limited (AHL) was formed in 1986 and has become established as Europe's leading manufacturer of private label and OEM dental materials. AHL has become known as the specialist in the field of glass ionomer restoratives and cements. Not only do AHL supply the UK's leading private label brands of glass ionomer restorative, we also export throughout the world, with our glass ionomers being used on every continent.
AHL also produces a wide range of other materials including temporary materials, impression materials, composites, etchants, bonding adhesives, cleansers and prophylaxis pastes as well as many accessories. The prophylaxis pastes produced by AHL have become the leading private label product within the UK and we also manufacture the market leading branded product sold in the Japanese market. The field of temporary materials is another one of AHL's strong areas. AHL have succeeded in creating one of the leading brands of temporary materials within the difficult market of the USA, both for in-surgery and 'over-the-counter' (OTC) uses. The OTC materials have now become established throughout the USA being sold in leading pharmacies and chain stores such as Wal-Mart.
In 1997 AHL launched our own brand of products called AHL Generic. One reason for this was to gain CE marking, but it also gave AHL the opportunity to present our varied range of dental materials to a wider market. Achieving the CE mark meant the products could be quickly and easily rebranded for use under customers' own private label brands. AHL Generic products also gave potential private label customers the chance to assess their respective markets, before fully committing and launching a range of private label products of their own. Advanced Healthcare was also accredited with ISO9001 in 1997 and subsequently the ISO13485 quality standard (and we were in fact the first dental company in the UK to gain the ISO13485:2003 standard). AHL has gone from strength to strength, offering a fast and flexible service together with high quality products at competitive prices.
Our company has advanced research facilities and works closely with dental hospitals, universities and other academic institutions on the development of new and innovative dental materials. This means we are able to develop or adapt products to suit individual requirements and particular customer needs. One development to come out of this in recent years is the AMALGOMER range of super-strong glass ionomer restoratives. They are the strongest of their type produced anywhere in the world and have finally given glass ionomer restoratives the recognition they deserve. AMALGOMER offers all the usual documented advantages of glass ionomer restoratives, but with unparalleled strength and durability to provide long lasting dependable restorations.
During the summer of 2008, AHL expanded into smart new purpose designed premises. Acquiring two additional units alongside our current production facility has allowed us to significantly increase our scope. Production, packaging and QA operations have been streamlined to offer an improved service to customers and to allow for greater flexibility. Major investment in new processing equipment and computerisation will help towards providing improved efficiency and quality. Increased staff training and additional recruitment is also planned to strengthen the already excellent team and to build upon the solid reputation that has been established since the early days of AHL. This recent expansion and investment will give AHL the scope to expand for the foreseeable future, remaining at the very forefront of the dental materials industry and firmly committed to UK manufacturing.
